So why is it that other people can so easily see your awesomeness - but you struggle to believe it? In fact, deep down, you fear the only reason they think so highly of you is because they just don’t have the full picture. That if they knew the real you and all the flaws you keep hidden - they wouldn’t be nearly as impressed. It’s a 24/7 job keeping up with the pressure of expectations, and it’s no coincidence you’ve been experiencing physical symptoms of stress like headaches, neck and back pain, and stomach issues. Let me help you slow down, take a beat, and reconnect with yourself. You’ve been so focused on how others may perceive your life - you haven’t stopped to consider what it feels like for you to be living your life.

  • Perfectionism

    It’s not that you have to be PERFECT... but you do have high standards and expect a lot from yourself! You basically want to be viewed as at least above-average - at everything, all the time. And if you’re not immediately good at something, you have two main go-to’s: either avoid it completely, or get your Inner Mean Girl to judge you until you improve. Meet Your Therapist

Hi, I’m Erica Murphy!

I’m a New Orleans based therapist who specializes in helping high-performers reduce their stress, pressure, and anxiety by redefining what success and fulfillment truly means for them. As a former burnt out high-performer myself (hello, New York City life!), I am intimately aware of the struggles you’re currently experiencing - and I have the knowledge, skills, and straightforward energy you need to help you get to the other side.

As a therapist, I don’t put on airs or pretend to be flawless. During our therapy sessions you’ll usually find me in comfy sweatshirts & yoga pants, sippin’ on my coffee and dropping the occasional f bomb while we figure out what’s going on with you. My dog Lazlo will be over in the corner, napping the deep sleep of those unbothered by responsibility (the lucky bastard).

When I’m not working, you can find me fueling my iced coffee addiction, wrangling my fur gremlins Lazlo (pictured here) and Colin Robinson, or wrapped in a cozy blanket as I devour the latest spicy YA-fantasy or sci-fi romance with a glass of wine in hand. Click here to learn more

  • Please do us both a favor and read through my FAQ’s section before booking a discovery call. This will save us both time by helping you to determine if there’s anything about my style or policies that would prevent me from being the right fit for you.

  • Schedule your free 15-minute discovery call with me. We’ll get to chat directly, clarify what you’re looking for from therapy, and determine if I’m the best fit for your needs.

    *I am also happy to provide referrals if we decide not to move forward for whatever reason.

  • If we decide to work together, we’ll get you scheduled for your first appointment (either during our discovery call or via a follow-up email with scheduling link included). Once your first appointment has been scheduled, you’ll then receive an email with your paperwork package. You will need to complete this paperwork before our first appointment, otherwise I will be unable to meet with you.

    The paperwork package will include a payment form where you can enter your preferred method of payment for our appointments. Your card will be automatically charged on the day of your scheduled therapy appointments moving forward.

  • In our first appointment we’ll start getting to know each other, clarify your goals for our time together, and have you walking away with a renewed sense of confidence, hope, and clarity.
