FAQ’S

  • I am physically located in New Orleans, Louisiana. I am licensed to provide therapy to residents of Louisiana and New York. For New York residents I can ONLY provide virtual appointments. For LA residents, I offer virtual and in-person services. In-person appointments are available at my office located in Uptown New Orleans at 2529 Jena Street, New Orleans, LA 70115. I currently see therapy clients on Mondays and Thursdays between the hours of 11am-4pm.

  • As of March 2023, my therapy session fee is $225 for a 45-minute session.

    PLEASE NOTE:

**I do not accept insurance, communicate with insurance companies, or complete insurance paperwork. This means it is your sole responsibility as the client to pay in full at time of our scheduled appointment. All clients are expected to provide method of payment which will be kept on file and will automatically be charged after scheduled session (usually between the hours of 12am-2am).

**I provide Superbills to clients upon request. It is not guaranteed that your insurance will accept Superbills or that you will receive reimbursement from them for our sessions. It is your responsibility as the client to communicate with your insurance company about out-of-network benefits or utilize a third party like The Super Bill to handle the claims and reimbursement process for you.

  • I have a strict No Cancellation/48-Hour Reschedule policy. This means if you are unable to attend a scheduled session and do not reschedule it, you are still financially responsible for the session cost and will be charged regardless of whether or not you attend the scheduled session.

This policy is mutually beneficial in that it a) strongly encourages you as the client to maintain your therapy appointments as a consistent priority in your life schedule and helps holds you accountable to do so, and b) allows me as the professional to more effectively anticipate my income and schedule and plan my life accordingly.

You are able to reschedule appointments as often as needed via the online Client Portal, provided you do not consistently engage in a pattern of rescheduling that impedes our ability to effectively engage in the therapeutic process. You can request a new appointment up to 48 hours before your originally scheduled appointment, and you will have access to my calendar availability up to 2 weeks into the future. *Please note it is not guaranteed there will be an appointment time available for reschedule - appointments are booked on a first come, first serve basis.

  • Our roles: Our sessions function in a collaborative manner. You are in the role of Explorer, and I am in the role of Guide. Your responsibility as the Explorer is to pay attention to what you’re feeling during the process, be honest and authentic, communicate what’s happening for you internally, and share when something feels significant and like it needs further exploration. As the Guide, I utilize the information and energy I receive from you to help structure and guide our individual sessions as we work towards your overall goals.

Session Structure: On average, we’ll begin session with an update from you about how life has been, confirm our agenda for our time together and the topics we’ll be addressing, and then we’ll either go into your stated agenda or we’ll work on debriefing your homework from last session. We’ll usually end session by having you reflect on your “take-aways” (i.e. anything that felt important or significant to you during session), and then we’ll collaborate on therapy homework for you to focus on during the interim time before we next meet. *Note: This is the general structure you can expect when coming into session - but I intentionally tailor each session to meet my clients wherever they’re at emotionally and energetically at that moment in time, which means the session structure will shift and adapt (and sometimes get totally thrown out) to most effectively support you and our work together.

  • Therapeutic Style: If you’ve never heard of Transpersonal Therapy, you’re in for a treat - because it’s freakin’ awesome. Transpersonal Therapy takes a holistic view of human beings that extends beyond just our mental health and into all the aspects that intertwine to inform our existence and interpretation of reality. This means the way I approach therapy isn’t restricted to just focusing on your mind - it focuses on all of you, how each piece interconnects and impacts, and which areas have been hurt and require care and healing. In my experience, I have found that this type of therapy provides the most effective results to individuals who are seeking enlightenment and understanding of who they truly are, what they truly want, and who are ready to put in the work to make the changes necessary to create the reality they deeply desire for themselves.

Techniques: While I utilize Transpersonal Therapy as a my main therapeutic modality, I take a holistic perspective to healing - which means I don’t restrict myself to just one method of therapy or to solely relying on traditional Western therapeutic models. I will learn about and pull from whatever areas of study will most help my clients. Currently, my therapeutic style largely incorporates techniques and strategies from the following areas: Transpersonal Psychology; Existentialism; Shadow Work theory; Parts work; Integrative Family Systems (aka origin wound mapping); Polyvagal Theory (aka nervous system regulation); Coaching; Personal Development; Meditation; Visualization; Somatic Work; Energetic & Spiritual Principles.

  • 60% Sugar, 40% Spice. You’ll get endless support, compassion, and understanding from me - while also getting someone who’s not afraid to call you out when you’re on some bullshit and getting in your own way.

Goal-oriented. One of the first things we work on together is clarifying your goals for our time together. This provides a guiding focus to ensure that we not only have a game plan, but a tangible way to measure whether you’re getting what you need from this process.

Collaborative. I am *not* the one who’s going to spend 45 minutes silently listening, with some occasional head nods thrown in, and then take your money at the end. There will be a lot of back and forth discussion as we tease things apart and figure out together what you’re feeling and what you need.

Conversational. I don’t keep a notepad on my lap or a checklist of robotic questions. I like for our time together to feel more like an organic conversation - while I provide guidance that helps us maintain focus, clarity, and intention around bringing you closer to your goals. As one of my clients described, “It’s like talking with your friend - except they know shit and it’s actually helpful.” (And yes, we can curse together. What’s the point in therapy if you’re censoring your language the whole time?)

  • This is going to be a highly unsatisfying, but truthful, answer: it depends. Just like if you were going to the doctor for help healing something, the level and intensity of intervention is going to depend on what the issue is, how long it’s been happening for, and how much impact it’s having on your quality of life.

    • On average, the majority of my clients start off by seeing me either weekly or bi-weekly (every other week). Once they’ve begun achieving their therapy goals and feel ready to reduce frequency, they either choose to stop therapy or to continue meeting with me 1x/month for maintenance and continued support.

    • It’s rare that a client sees me for less than 12 sessions, and the majority of my clients choose to continue working with me longer term (often a year or more). Some clients choose to stop therapy once they’ve accomplished their goals, and then return at a later point in time when they are ready to resume the healing process or need support around something particular.

Barring any safety concerns that would require me to share my professional recommendation about the frequency and intensity of your therapy - the decision for how frequently to meet with me and how long to work with me is going to be something for you to determine (though I am of course happy to support you with your decision making process).

  • All new potential clients conduct a free 15-minute discovery call with me to determine if we’re the right fit to work together (click here to schedule your call now). During this phone call you’ll share what you’re looking for support with and we’ll discuss how I can help. If we confirm that we’re a good fit and decide to move forward, we would then get you scheduled for your first appointment either during that phone call or via a follow-up email that includes a link to schedule your first appointment. Once your first appointment is scheduled, you will receive your paperwork package via email for you to complete before meeting for our first appointment. A payment information form will be included and you will put your preferred card on file that will automatically be charged following your scheduled sessions (usually between 12am-2am).

Waitlist Option: If my current availability does not match your schedule, you also have the option of being added to my running waitlist. This means I will take your contact information and reach out when a spot becomes available.

    Please note:

    • Being placed on my waitlist does not make me your therapist, and I am not allowed to provide you with therapeutic advice, suggestion, or support.

    • I cannot guarantee or estimate the amount of time before a spot opens up. This is completely dependent on my current clients and when we choose to end services.

**For these reasons, I strongly encourage individuals to continue their therapist search even after being added to my waitlist.
